Fairwinds is an anonymous, trustworthy place where Nantucket residents of all ages can go to receive help for issues related to mental health and substance abuse. Anyone is invited to come, no matter their financial situation.

In the late 1950s, concerned citizens of Nantucket got together to talk about the desperate need for a group that might provide support to islanders struggling with mental health concerns. Family & Children’s Services of Nantucket is the name under which the organization was originally formed in 1962. Since then, they have put in countless hours to build an organization that provides a secure environment for its clients and acts as a beacon of hope for the island.

Fairwinds is dedicated to promoting positive mental health in their community through preventative programs, wellness education, and addiction treatment services. More than 30,000 sessions for mental health and drug addiction treatment are arranged at Fairwinds every year to help the people of Nantucket.
