Fusaro’s is the place to visit in Nantucket if you crave Italian food. Less than a mile from town along Old South Road, it is the ideal dining spot for families and friends.
The eatery’s conception was to meet the desire for authentic and affordable Italian food. It meets the purpose for its establishment, a reason many people in Nantucket patronize it frequently.
This Italian joint has a classy subtle appearance from the outside, which will make an excellent first impression on a date. There is ample space with comfy chairs where you can sit and enjoy the cool breeze. The interior is also impressive, with a delicious aroma welcoming you, a spoiler of what you will get.
The menu is perhaps the most exciting thing about Fusaro’s. Like most Italian joints, pizza is a staple in Fusaro’s. You can try the traditional cheese comprising tomatoes and mozzarella with extra toppings. Optionally, you can try the gluten-free type. Other pizza types to sample include Anastasia, Margherita, Tuscan chicken, fico, and fungi.
You can start with the antipasti when checking in for lunch or dinner. The antipasti menu has niceties like scallop chowder, arancini tartufo, eggplant caprese, Nana Jean’s meatballs, and Nantucket sound calamari.
For entrees, you will love the veal marsala, made from blistered green beans, veal scallopini, and parmesan whipped potatoes, if you have an adventurous palate. Other alternatives are pollo limone, chicken parmigiana, New York strip steak, and pork chop.
Italian restaurants are famous for their pasta, an attribute Fusaro’s upholds. Nantucket scallops with capellini is a perfect mashup of Nantucket and Italian cuisine. Nantucket bay scallops, spinach, angel hair, white wine, and garlic make up this hearty meal.
Mimi’s lasagna, fettuccine alfredo, chicken siciliano with penne, and spaghetti with shrimp scampi are other pasta dishes to relish at Fusaro’s. Sides and additions are grilled chicken, truffle parmigiana fries, sauteed garlicky spinach, and charred broccolini. Order your meal with a preferred drink.
The entire menu is available for takeout via online delivery. Fusaro’s does not accept reservations, operating on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note that it opens from 4.30 pm to 9 pm every day except on Sundays.
